Johann Strauss Ensemble announce new concert dates

On the 5th of October the Johann Strauss Ensemble starts a new Strauss concert cycle in cooperation with the Musiktheater Linz, Austria. Called “On the Wings of Song”, the cycle will showcase the international character of the theatre. At each concert, the musicians of the Johann Strauss Ensemble will invite one member of the opera Ensemble as a special guest.

 
The shows will have their guest’s cultural background as the main theme, as the performed pieces are personally selected by the artists.
 
 
First concert in the cycle:
Sunday, October 5th 2014, 19:30, Musiktheater- Orchestersaal
 
 
Benjamin Britten: Variations on a theme of Frank Bridge, op.10
Ingo Ingensand: Canto op.8 
Frank Bridge: Three Songs for Medium Voice, viola and piano
Ingo Ingensand: “Zusammenstreit”, op.7 
Benjamin Britten: Les Illuminations, op.18
 
Karen Robertson, soprano

Strauss Ensemble Concerts in Greece and Romania

 
The Johann Strauss Ensemble has also announced two concerts in Athens’ Christos Lambrakis Hall on December 6th and 7th.
Music by Johann and Josef Strauss, Franz Lehar and more. Led by Russell McGregor.
 
In December, the Ensemble will be performing a number of dates in Romania. See your local press or Johan Strauss Ensemble for details.
