For over 40 years the Johann Strauss Gala has been entertaining UK audiences with its combination of timeless music, dancing and a splash of comedy. Presented by showman Rainer Hersch, The Johann Strauss Orchestra and Dancers have just announced a string of UK concerts for 2016.
Classic Strauss interpretations
Rainer will be conducting the Johann Strauss Orchestra, in classic interpretations of masterpieces such as The Emperor Waltz, Radetsky March, Carmen Quadrille, Polka Furioso and – inevitably – the Blue Danube Waltz.
Soprano Samantha Hay will be performing a sparkling selection of other well-known songs from the era, including Doll Aria from Tales of Hoffman. Completing the cast, the highly acclaimed Johann Strauss Dancers, in glorious period costumes and a few comedy routines, will dance to some of the most romantic waltzes and liveliest polkas ever composed. A fusion of music, dance and song, the show is billed as the ultimate Viennese party.
The Johann Strauss Gala will be choreographed by Alexandra Worrell.
